Experience

Cuauhtémoc Santa-Ana specializes in corporate and financial law, and he focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, financing, administrative law, and telecommunications.

Cuau’s expertise in international business law and his knowledge of the changes in today’s globalized economic community has allowed him to successfully serve as counsel in litigation matters of over $30,000,000 and help clients secure credit facilities of $140,000,000.  Cuau currently serves as Secretary of the Board of a number of companies listed in the Mexican “Bolsa Mexicana de Valores” (Mexico’s Stock Market).

Cuau has participated in the incorporation of investment funds, and has substantial experience in mergers, acquisitions, and the highly-specialized issues involved therein.

Before starting his own private practice, Cuau worked for a couple of years as an associate at Coudert Brothers in New York City, where he focused his practice in international business transactions, such as financing and mergers and acquisitions. Cuau has also acted as counsel for telecom network and infrastructure providers within Mexico. In addition, Cuau has been active in advising clients in bidding processes before local and federal authorities.

Cuau received his law degree from Universidad Panamericana in 1996.  He has been a member of the New York State Bar since 2000, after receiving his Master’s degrees from New York University; one in Comparative Law, and the second in Corporate Law.
